A kneeling walkout is a core training workout that involves knees and upper body parts particularly the hands and shoulders to build up the strength to the anterior portion. It trains the abs isometrically, and it’s the best exercise to involve various parts of the body that most of the workouts do not do at the same time like the upper, lower, and middle portions. The kneeling walkout boosts the deadlift and squat by augmenting the shift of force between the upper body and knees. It does not require any machine in other words, it is an equipment-free version of the exercise.
The technique point for the kneeling walkout (or hand walkout’ knees up version) is to grasp the end position (or arms extended out forward-facing) for one full second. It is the position that leads towards greatest strength gain so one shouldn’t go back to it too soon.
The kneeling walkout is slightly safer and challenging as well, as it is easier to control how far one stretches forward. It’s still possible that this workout overstretches you and you hurt your shoulders or lower back. Don’t go too far. It is an advanced exercise, thus if anybody can’t grasp a regular plank for one minute, should hit that target first.
Benefits of Kneeling Walkout
1. The kneeling walkout improves total core strength that happens through an entire range of motion.
2. This exercise also improves flexibility and strength in the upper body, particularly in the shoulders.
3. It involves almost all parts of the body that other exercises do not do.
4. It builds up the muscles of the spine and pelvis. This exercise is used as an excellent warm-up to the body that boosts the immune system.
How to do a Kneeling Walkout
· Start on all fours with knees and hands shoulder-width apart. They are right below the shoulders.
· Brace the abs, and tense the glutes like somebody is going to punch into your stomach.
· Then “walk” with your hands frontward. Your hips should move forward as soon as you grasp your left arm out.
· Now, continue walking your hands out till your abs are a few inches off the floor. Reverse the position by walking your hands back towards the starting position. That’s one rep.
